Most of us have heard the African proverb, “It takes a village to raise a child,” but if we want to see positive changes in our communities, we need more people to start living out this proverb rather than just talking about it. Soar2BMore believes that many of the negative statistics in society could be positively impacted if the village supported and encouraged one another rather blaming. Sometimes teachers blame the parents and students for poor academic performance and behavior. Sometimes parents blame the teachers, administration or the entire education system. People in the community might blame the teachers, parents and students. The truth is that everyone has a role to play in educating, equipping, encouraging, and empowering our youth. We are all teachers and parents to the youth in our communities and have a responsibility to pour into the lives of our youth.
